The best way to describe this game is a Japanese attempt ...

The best way to describe this game is a Japanese attempt ...
The best way to describe this game is a Japanese attempt at an American RPG. If you are playing this game, chances are you have seen a few Japanese animes, dramas, or movies. And like most Japanese programming, there may be a death, an "unexpected" turn of events, and maybe self sacrifice involved.EASY BREAKDOWN (According to me):Side quests/hunts: 4/10. Most of the side quests aren't really quests. It's more of like go here and kill this animal and come back. That's it. seriously.(Oblivion which is like 10 years old now, had way better side quests that sometimes took hours to complete)NPC/AI: 4/10. The NPC don't really move much further than a few feet. And they always repeat the same 2 lines of dialogue. You only see like 3 or 4 cars on the road during your whole trip to a destination, every time.Map: 9/10. Very beautiful and very large, except it doesn't feel as large as it should. Since many quests have you going to locations "far away", after a while it no longer seems very far, especially with the auto drive mode. (also, if you ram other cars on the road, only your car will get damaged and depending on the damage you might have to tow it back to Cindy's and pay a lot of gil to fix it)Voice acting(Japanese): 10/10. I loved everyone's voices. Especially Noctis' voice in the last few chapters.( My favorite characters were Ignis and Noctis.)Battle system: 10/10. I loved that it is more like the Kingdom Hearts fighting style. No more turned based is good for me.Story: This is where everyone fights and gets into arguments. Whilst playing Chapters 4-12, I was so mad and disappointed in the game that I was gonna give this game 1 star and stop playing. I was mad and square enix for such a horrible game and mad at myself for having such had high expectations. But then enter Chapter 13, and everything changed. A lot of reviews and threads say CH.13 is the worst chapter and should have been left out of replaced by a cutscene. I disagree. I thought Chapter 13 was a learning experience for noctis and made their friendship a lot stronger. And when you enter the Insomnia the music that plays in the background is just beautiful. After everything that has happened finally you are back to reclaim your throne with your friends. That being said, if you like well thought out, organic plots that flourish incrementally with meaningful drama and suspense that keep you on the edge of your seat for the entire ride, this is not for you. To be honest I don't even know the backstory, but it didn't matter I like stories that have characters I can relate to. Which is why I will give it a 9/10.**To better get the full impact of the ending DO NOT SPEEDRUN the main quest line. Do at least half of the side quests, hunts, fish, cook, explore areas on foot, ride chocobos, fight the annoying Magitek engines that seem to keep following you, before you finish.***Remember to use Umbra to go back in time to do some quests. I couldn't complete some quests later because I finished the game and could not go back to an area to look for an ingredient.****I finished the story in a little over 47 hours at Level 44. And I had done more than half of the side quests like a third of the hunts.
