Xbox quiere hacer temblar a Sony y ya cuenta con su propio Spotify de videojuegos: Xbox Game Pass

Una de las tendencias en los últimos tiempos a la hora de disfrutar de contenido digital es hacer uso de una suscripción de uso y disfrute. Servicios como Spotify, Netflix, Hulu en música y vídeo son buenos ejemplos. Pagamos algo así cómo una tarifa plana por poder tener acceso a música y películas o series de televisión casi de forma ilimitada.

Y este tipo de propuesta es la que llega a Xbox con un nombre: Xbox Game Pass. Se trata de un modo similar al que podemos encontrar en EA Access por el cual tenemos acceso a un catálogo de videojuegos. Un servicio de alquiler del que ya habíamos oído hablar y del cual ya conocemos su feha de llegada al gran público.

Será el día 1 de junio la fecha señalada en la que Xbox Game Pass estará disponible para los usuarios de Xbox One. Por una cuota mensual de 9,99 euros tendremos acceso a una serie de juegos que se irá incrementando poco a poco y en la que habrá desde juegos de Xbox One hasta juegos retrocompatibles de Xbox 360. En total un listado con más de 100 títulos que puedes ver al final de artículo.

Unos juegos que no harán uso del _streaming_, por lo que se evita el parte el problema con las redes que tengan menos ancho de banda (seguirá siendo tedioso el problema de la descarga y el tiempo que tarde) pero que sin embargo puede verse limitado por otro factor como es la capacidad de almacenamiento de cada consola. Además, una vez descargados podremos jugar sin que necesitamos tener conexión (a no ser que el juego la requiera).

Otra de las ventajas que argumentan desde Microsoft que podemos encontrar con Xbox Game Pass es que los usuarios de esta modalidad tendrán acceso a descuento en forma de un 20% y un 10% en las compras de títulos para Xbox One y de complementos relacionados respectivamente. Xbox Game Pass ya está disponible para probar durante dos semanas de forma gratuita para los usuarios de Xbox Live Gold. Ahora queda conocer si esta propuesta puede calar entre los usuarios.

Y aunque no queda claro, este tipo de propuestas (ya ocurre con PlayStation Plus y demás suscripciones similares), ofrecen una pega y es que una vez cesa nuestra suscripción perdemos el acceso a los títulos que tenemos en cuenta. Pagamos por un alquiler, un uso y disfrute, pero nada más.
